THE WEDDING DAY

My Day & Workflow

Hey there, if you're reading this we've probably already had a chat online, via email or social media, and maybe you are interested in how I do things on a wedding day.

Essentially I try not to stress myself too much in advance or plan much, I always tell people that I will show up with lots of camera gear & some umbrellas, and just see what happens on the day, as the UK weather is always going to throw you something, almost all the time.

You won't find me yelling at people to do something for the camera (unless it is absolutely necessary) and I do try my very best to not pose people too much, unless they let me of course.

Otherwise I'll turn up, probably in black armed with a camera and you'll find me lurking somewhere trying to capture something interesting.

The Morning

I usually arrive at a wedding around 10am if we have scheduled for wedding prep photo's, if not I will at least recommend an hour before the wedding ceremony to capture a little of what is going on & some of those important details.

The wedding service

I will almost always be ready to shoot at the top of the isle ready for the arrival of bridal party and remain there throughout the service, unless there is room to easily maneuver around the venue. If the service is being held at a church I will always try to chat to whoever is performing the ceremony to introduce myself, and chat about any restrictions they might have in place, occasionally this can be an issue, but it is rare..

Confetti & Family Pictures

So the bit almost everyone hates about wedding days, the dreaded family group pictures. I don't insist on a shot list for the wedding day, but if you have a long list of desired shot and specific family groupings, it can be a good idea to have a list, because we will all forget on the day.

I try my very best to make this part of the day pass as quickly as possible so you can get on with enjoying your day.

Speeches

This part of the day can be one of my favourite, occasionally very emotional and often very very funny.

I will always sneak into your reception area before the guests and document the table layouts and any details that have been included.

Couple's Time

Once the speeches are over, I'll almost always take the couple for a walk around the grounds of their venue and try to take some fun/relaxed portraits, I will also encourage you to bring a drink, loosen your tie and just enjoy yourself.

Cutting the cake, First dance & dancefloor

The final part of the day, cutting of the cake and your first dance. I get asked a lot about when I leave, and my answer is always the same, "When I get some shots of people going for it on the dancefloor".

Then, I will consider leaving you in peace to enjoy the rest of the evening.

After The Wedding

After the wedding itself I will send you about 50/60 shots of the day within 24/48 hours that you can enjoy whilst I prepare the full gallery.

Your final digital gallery will be available to you and your guests to download, and will remain active indefinitely.
